About Broke&mental
I started Broke&mental because I was living it.
I moved from the UK to Brisbane with not much more than a suitcase and a head full of noise. I’d spent over 14 years grinding in hospitality working my way up to Assistant Manager, handling pressure, keeping things together for everyone else while quietly falling apart myself. I know what it’s like to show up every day when your bank account is empty and your head won’t shut up.
That’s what Broke&mental is. It’s not a brand that pretends everything’s fine. It’s streetwear for people who are honest enough to admit they’re struggling and still getting up anyway.
The name says it all. Broke. And mental. Two things most of us have been at some point but nobody wants to say out loud. I wanted to make something that lets people wear that truth without shame. The split brain and heart in our logo isn’t about being broken it’s about being real.
A portion of every purchase goes directly to mental health charities, because talking about mental health shouldn’t just be a slogan on a t-shirt. up to 20% of the profit off each order will be donated to a mental health charity.
Every piece is designed to feel like your favourite thing in the wardrobe — the one you reach for without thinking. Oversized fits, heavyweight fabrics, graphics that say something. Nothing fragile. Nothing fake.
If you’re broke, if you’re mental, if you’re both — welcome. You’re in the right place.
